25. only a number??

Now at the age of 25 now… will be glad to share some lessons I’ve learned…

1.life is too short to spend it unhappily. This single line says a lot.
2.Be grateful for what you have in your life.
3.Bad things happen to good people all the time. J
4.Parents are probably right all the times.
5. Time heals all wounds no matter how deep the cut is at that moment. Unless you refuse    to let it by reopening that wound intentionally.
6.and finally I firmly believe what goes around – comes around. It is damn true. You can test this principle in your life as well..

Anna Hajare !!!

India is witnessing a great revolution. Anna Hajare and civil society has taken a step to ensure promising future of Indian youth. Whole nation is supporting this movement.

Only this cruel and wicked Congress government and some mindless, corrupt leaders like Lalu Yadav, Kapil Sibbal and Digvijay Singh  are against this movement and public serving JANLOKPAL bill.  Congress party will be thrown out of central Govt. for the decades in coming elections.

The future PM of congress party, Rahul Gandhi, is such a shameless personality that he had been underground and never spoke a word against corruption. This nation will never forgive Rahul Gandhi and his govt. for being against the nation and people. The govt. itself is so corrupt that it can never think of presenting a bill that would enforce them to be honest.

Anna Hajare and civil society – Nation is with you. It is the second war of freedom and in fact more difficult than previous one. Whole County has unite now to fight against corruption and corrupt govt. JAI HIND

Truth

People are damn careless these days. They don’t even bother to callback or message even you message them hundreds of times. People now concentrate only on themselves no matter how much you care and miss them. It just feels so bad to interact with such people for a short time, but later on you have to,because they are your own.

You can never assume people will be there for you in your time of need. Be self-sufficient and be there for yourself. In this time nobody cares for anyone and if someone does he’d also write a blog like this someday.

Resolved

Aarti auntie’s case is finally resolved. Yesterday I talked to her and said that my sms was purely unintentional.

She was a bit happy and said you don’t need to worry about such small things.

OMG

Getting bored, have nothing to do… lets delete some useless messages from outbox. This thought compelled me to take my cell phone in hand but after seeing first sent message, my eyes become wide-open n I was just shocked.

OMG how it happened. I had absolutely no idea about it. Perhaps while sending text messages to my friends’ by mistake I marked Aarti auntie’s no. as well in sending list. It was a non-veg message, absolute ridiculous. She used to live opposite my house.

Just after realizing it I deleted her number from my cell phone to avoid such nonsense again as alphabetically her name comes first “Aarti.” Now what she must be thinking about me???

Amusing...!!

I was sitting outside my shop with few boys who work in my fast-food shop. Next to my shop is a ladies tailor and lots of gorgeous girls come to his shop.

Yesterday evening few girls were trying to start their scooty bike but could not, and we were just watching them. I told one of the boys to help her in starting her bike, as it’s a culture in India to help the girls with their bikes. But he seemed to enjoy her frustration and didn’t go. Then one of the girl told him- “ Tum bas bethe-bethe dekhte raho help nahi kar sakte kya? “ (Why don’t you help instead of seeing us struggling?)

I burst into laughter after hearing her unexpected remark and so the girl. He went to her tried hard to start her bike. I also went to her and she started telling me about the problem her bike has and suddenly her bike starts. A big smile come on her face she said me thank you very much and went away. That boy saw me and said in frustration I started her bike and the stupid girl not even said thank you, all people and few customers witnessed this scene and could not control their laughter….

Riots

Indian Police is disreputable for its functioning and corruption but here in my hometown Ratlam Police is precedent for its carefulness and on the taking action immediately.

These days police is taking very strong actions to arrest criminals and maintain communal harmony in city. Some furniture is being made in my shop and I was there and police came there and started checking vehicles for weapons and criminals.

I was sitting on my bike near them and watching all the activities then came city S.P. and police instantly became more alert. Policeman stopped a car and the driver did not stop and started arguing with policeman. S.P. Saab came there and slapped the driver and then all the policemen started beating the driver with foot and stick and I became uneasy seeing all this as it is my first chance witness police action. Again a biker came drunk and fought with policeman and then police arrested him and beat him aggressively.

Ratlam has just witnessed a communal riot and police took strong and quick action to control the riots and a curfew was charged in city for few days. People of minority religion are boiled at police and threatening the S.P. and Collector and therefore Police is very strict these days.
After watching all these chaos I couldn’t resist writing all these. At my way to home I told one of the police officer that folks of Ratlam are with the police and Police should be stricter to maintain peace in the city and arrest terrorists of minority population.

Amazing people, Tragic ends

The other day one of India's top fashion model "Viveka Babajee" committed suicide. Hanged in her bedroom, with diary notes testifying her emotional turbulences and loneliness. There is a huge list of sucessful, have it all people who died or killed themselves tragically.

Marilyn Monroe before her `probable suicide’ said in an interview - “Sometimes I’m invited to places to brighten up a dinner table like a musician. You’re just an ornament.” Lucy Gordon (Spiderman fame) also suffered the same agony. An immense sense of loneliness, hopelessness and lack of belonging seems to overpower even the most gifted ones to end the beautiful gift of God, Life.

Things like this are extremely troubling and compels me to count my blessings. Family, friends, my town, my garden, my pets, the soothing morning breeze, the sun rise, the chirping of birds, the moist grass of the morning... there are so many reasons to live and make life more beautiful every day.

May God always be with all of us.

Paul vs. Parrot..!

An octopus named Paul is predicting the winners in this fifa world cup. He is supposed to have psychic powers.

I just can’t understand why an octopus is at all interested in a football match? Or Paul is appointed only for prediction of football matches not for other things. :) Octopus has 8 legs but no hands it may also be the reason Paul loves football. lol
Nobody’s even thinking that these predictions can just be a coincidence. Great. :)

Indian astrologers have been predicting the future accurately with their parrot but they never received such publicity. Our Indian Astrologers may plan to buy these kinds of Octopuses for their Business development. :)  I would prefer the parrot to the octopus. What would you do??? :)))

Parrot

Yesterday I noticed a parrot in cage in my neighbor’s house and it made me recall that two parrots have died in the same cage and it’s the third one they bought recently.

I am forced to think that human beings are horrible to animals. What if somebody puts us in a small cage for all our life? What’d be our life after that? I think it is hideous practice and should be made illegal. Whenever I see birds in cages I feel very sad because I can’t let them out. If one has to keep bird in cage then its ok as long as you let them out for exercise flights in the house. Cages should be large and proper care must be taken.

But it’s damn cruel to clip their wings and never let them out of their cage. I'm not happy about keeping animals or birds in small cages and so I would never keep a bird. If we had more compassion for animals we’d be better people and we’d be happier too.

If you would read only one book in your life?

Firstly, I strongly recommend that all of us read much much more than just one book in our life :)... (of course other than the school books) But what if I were to read only one book in my entire life time? Which book should this be?

I am not the most voracious reader type (many people I have met actually read one or more book per week) but from whatever reading I have done, I have following preference --

1. Any religious\spiritual book in which you believe... may be Bible, Gita, Quran or any spiritual books. (Hinduism believes that the ultimate aim of human life is to seek God, and hence if we just want to read only one book then why not devote it to the ultimate aim)

2. For more materialistic humans like me :), I would recommend "The magic of Thinking Big" by David Schwartz.

This book has the potential to change our thinking and affect every possible dimension of our life. I read this book long ago and I keep going back to read certain chapters to pep up myself. More on this book sometime later... :)

Let me know which book would you read if you are to read only one book in your life???

Stray Dogs

During my early morning walk today, I saw a girl with her cute pet puppy. Suddenly a couple of street dogs started barking at the pet. Unfortunately street dogs or stray dogs are still a reality is most cities of India. These are the dogs born and raised on streets with no one being owner or caretaker. And as the herd mentality goes, hearing the barking sound a few more stray dogs from nearing areas joined the chorus. The girl was a little perturbed and as it was morning there were very few people around (hardly any I guess).

I went up to the girl, consoled her by the old saying that barking dogs seldom bite, called a cab to make sure that she along with Silky reach home safely. (by the way Silky is the pet's name). I felt like a hero who just rescued a little girl and her pet...but I was about to see another hero....

As the cab drew away, one of the stray dogs, who seemed to be the leader of the pack, ran behind the cab for a distance. Constantly barking and waging his tail, after running a while he came back with a sort of winner's smile of face :) ... Happy that he shoo away an intruder from his territory...

Meanwhile I have found an NGO on internet dedicated to the cause of Stray dogs... Time to call them up....

A little girl....

Can we really just think and grow rich…???? This was the thought which crossed my mind when I first saw the title ‘Think and grow rich’ on a book….

Curious… I picked up the book and found that it actually contained a lot of meat about human behavior and human endeavors.

Unless I think something how can I do or achieve that? All great work begins with a thought…blah blah blah....I have read this many times….

But the very first story about this little girl touched me deeply… I would simply narrate the story here …

The story is setup in a little older time where racial discrimination seemed to be still prevalent...

A young man was helping his uncle grind wheat in an old fashioned mill. The uncle operated a large farm on which a number of colored sharecrop farmers lived. Quietly the door opened and a small colored child, daughter of a tenant, walked in and stood near the door. The uncle saw the child and barked at her roughly - "What do you want?" Meekly the child replied, "My mommy say send her Fifty cents". "I'll not", the uncle retorted, "Now you run home.""Yes, sah," the child replied. But she did not move. The uncle went ahead with his work, so busy that he did not notice that child has not left. When he looked up and saw her still standing, he furiously yelled "I told you to go home or I'll take a switch to you."
The little girl said "Yes Sah" but she did not budge an inch. The uncle dropped the sack of grain he was about to pour into the mill hopper, picked a barrel stave, and started toward the child with an expression which indicated trouble.

The young man held his breath, he was sure he was about to witness a murder as he knew his uncle's fierce temper. He knew that colored children were not supposed to defy white people in that part of the country.

When the uncle reached close to the child, she quickly stepped forward one step, looked up into his eyes, and screamed at top of her shrill voice, "MY MOMMY'S GOT TO HAVE THAT FIFTY CENTS."

The uncle stopped, looked at her for a minute, then slowly laid the barrel stave on floor, put his hand in his pocket, took out half a dollar and gave it to the girl. The child took the money, slowly backed towards the door, never taking her eyes off the man she had just conquered.

I seem to be loving this book. I might bore you all with some more posts from the book soon :) :) :)....

HITCHHIKING..!!

Past two yrs, during my course, I met people from different places of India. Now sometimes I miss few things that I used to do over there.

I miss hitchhiking most. Every morning I used to go-to-go to college and return back to room only by hitchhiking. Often I felt like my last ride when I got to be pillion of a drunken man and he drove rashly. :)
That time I swear not to hitchhike next time but next day I am ready for it again. J

Number of times I could not attend my first lecture because I was waiting for a car and nobody stopped that day. I didn’t feel like going on bike or any other vehicle. I was about to debar due to short attendance in first lecture :) I had to submit a medical certificate for that.

I met really interesting people this way. Some people ask bookful questions during the short journey that I feel like asking them please drop me here only I’d rather go by foot than to answer your worthless questions. While some people are very interesting and they appreciate this way of going to college and it reminds their days of hitchhiking.
I did not have to spend a single penny on going to college. Although it was not my aim, but was a great fun and adventure everyday. :)
